How To Deal With A Cockroach Infestation

The first question that you need to answer in dealing with a cockroach infestation is this: Are you willing to spend money or not? If your answer is yes, then you need to employ the services of pest control service providers in your area or region. This may cost a lot though. This is usually around 100 to 200 dollars depending on the area covered by the roaches. If, however, youre not willing to spend huge amounts of money to deal with roach infestation, then you can refer to the details below.

In order to deal with a cockroach infestation, its necessary to define what it means. A cockroach infestation comprises of hundreds or even thousands of roaches, and their presence is detrimental to a persons health. These roaches love to stay in wet and damp places, cracks and other dark areas of a house. If you are dealing with a vast amount of roaches, then there are several methods that you can employ in order to get rid of these pests.

The most basic method that can be used to deal with roaches is boric acid. Boric acid is an acid that has been tried and tested against these pests. By mere contact, roaches will instantly die. The only drawback of using boric acid is that it cannot be used in wet places. Also, long-term exposure to this is also harmful to humans and pets alike, since it can be considered as a poison. It can easily be bought at your local supermarket and it comes in either liquid or powder form. Just strategically place the borax acid or powder in the areas where these roaches roam frequently for best results.

If you are fond of traps, then you can use the coffee jar trap to lure in and kill hundreds of roaches. You just need to have three things, a jar, coffee beans (grounded) and petroleum jelly. You need to fill ΒΌ of the jar with water and soak the grounded coffee beans in it. You also need to apply petroleum jelly on the inside walls of the jar in order to prevent the roaches from coming out. Leave the jar open overnight and you will find hundreds of dead roaches in it. The key in this trap is the coffee, which the roaches love. The roaches will die after 30 to 40 minutes of being submerged in the coffee-based water of the trap.

You can also use fly traps as roach traps. Similar to the coffee jar trap, you can put grounded coffee or other stuff that roaches love in the middle of the fly trap. The roaches will be attracted to it and will try to fly over or crawl their way to the coffee. Due to the sticky glue in the fly trap, the roaches will be unable to free themselves. You can easily dispose of them by using lemon acid or any dishwashing liquid solution before dumping them in the trash. Youll be surprised to find tens or even hundreds of roaches falling prey to this simple trap and bait scheme.
